As an apparel designer by trade, Cedric Hudson (B.A. ’12, IMP: Fashion Design) is an award winning designer, artist, and storyteller who seeks to find the edges, where he feels the undiscovered thrives and currently is the vice president of men’s design at Fabletics
His experience includes 10 years with Adidas designing on various key teams, from basketball, sportswear, and the iconic YEEZY collaboration. His designs for James Harden and sportswear teams have also graced the pages of GQ magazine.

“I’m not so much of a technical player myself, and i’m probably not that much of an intellectual player as some other musicians. What I do is express, that’s what I do.”
-Pharoah Sanders-
Founder of his brand and storytelling vessel, Contemporary Athletics, Hudson’s ambition is to create pieces that are a catalyst for dialogue, and to enter a creative space where functional objects speak beyond their primary use.
However, the entrepreneur’s creative work is not limited to fashion. His radio show, Loungin’, for Portland radio station KMHD 89.1 Jazz Radio, provided a weekly community spotlight and sanctuary during the pandemic. Hudson weaves his innovative spirit into every aspect of design, including his award-winning furniture design, the Greensboro Chair. Crafted with passion and purpose, this chair pays homage to the historic 1960s protest, bridging the gap between design, history, storytelling, and social justice.
He has always enjoyed the action and idea of solving; solving for a function or even for a feeling is something that gives meaning to his work.
